Consistent production of high quality thin blown film is now possible for customers with SABIC’s family of advanced bimodal high density polyethylenes (HDPE). The HDPE family currently has 2 well established grades ─ the tough SABIC® HDPE FI0644 and the SABIC® HDPE FI1157, a higher density grade with a higher flow. The latest addition to the family, the SABIC® HDPE FI0750 was recently introduced to the market.

Pressure pipes made of this PP Random copolymer (PPR) grade have been used in daily life for over 30 years, longer than any other PPR pipe grade. Moreover, in the laboratory at SABIC’s production site in Gelsenkirchen (Germany), SABIC® Vestolen P 9421 pipes have been tested for hydrostatic pressure resistance since 1980.

Corrugated HDPE pipe is easy to recognize, its shape can be recognized out of thousands due to the “ribs”. It is used for many applications such as a 'body guard' to protect sensitive and /or dangerous cables, or as drainage pipes. Another interesting application is for animal tunnels, which are placed under main roads to allow animals to cross the road safely.
